The Trolley Sphinx

In response to changes in the public realm during the Covid 19 pandemic, design practice Bompas & Parr launched the ‘Fountain of Hygiene’ competition to explore solutions for a life after the pandemic. I entered the industrial design category with ‘The Trolley Sphinx’, an idea to subtly alter shoppers existing habits to improve hygiene and customer safety when using shopping trolleys. ‘The Trolley Sphinx’ retrofits a hand sanitiser pump into the existing infrastructure of trolley key locks.

Mine was one of ten shortlisted entries in the category and was featured on the competition website and exhibited alongside the winning entries at the Design Museum.
